I finally caved.

Almost exactly 4 years ago I found out I got a teaching job in Milan, Italy.  I was surprised how many people asked me if I was going to write a blog after I told them I got my job.  I always laughed and said no.. I mean, who would actually read it?  Well.. fast forward and here I am..

I actually had zero intention of doing this. This basically came from something that has been on my mind for the last few months. That thing is my need to do more. Let me back up..

If you know me at all you know that I love the internet- better yet, youtube. I’m really glad there is no way to know how much time I spend (waste?) on that website. If there was, I know it would tell me I’ve spent most of my time watching Casey Neistat. I’ve watched every video on his channel and will continue to do so every day until he stops (which I hope is never). He is an insanely talented, inspiring, hilarious and intriguing individual.  He is a filmmaker that vlogs his life everyday.. basically makes an 8-ish minute movie about his day and they always amaze me. I can’t even point you to a particular one to watch, because I kind of love them all. He also creates content for brands- Mercedes, J.Crew and Nike, to name a couple. This one my favorite.

How could you not be inspired after that?

Casey has a lot of tattoos and one of them says DO MORE. You can see it clearly in this video, a follow up to the one above.  After watching countless hours of Casey, along with a bunch of other travel vloggers, I’ve come to the realization that I need to do more with my experiences.  If you’ve traveled with me on ANY trip then you know I have a journal..that I’m constantly behind on. In fact, as I type this, my journal sits on my nightstand next to me, 5 months behind. That is a whole lot of travels I’m missing.  I also have a TON of photos that just sit in the cloud, not shared with anyone. I decided I need to do more with my travels. Create more. Share more.

So that is what this blog will be.

Who is going to be reading this? I have no idea. Actually, I know for a fact I’ll have one fan, my Dad (hey Kenno!).. and thats perfectly fine.

Are you someone other than my Dad? Leave me a comment and let me know!
